NEW
BORS IMO MEPC 107(49) Certified Bilge Oil Water Separator In January of 2005, many
countries began requiring new ships and
ships replacing separators (over 400 tons)
to meet the IMO MEPC 107(49) regulations.
This regulation requires removal of not
only free oil as the previous regulation
did, but also what is called "fluid
C". Also oil content monitors are required
to track results of separation. This new
requirement has significantly raised the
price of a bilge separator and limited the
separators to choose from. The BORS Series
107 brings you the best, most economical
system available today to meet this new
requirement. Our filter exchange program
makes it easy. |

IMO MEPC 60(33) Certified Bilge Oil Water Separator With US Coast Guard and
IMO MEPC 60(33) certification our standard
BORS separators are installed all over the
world in many applications. They are known
for their Heavy Duty construction, Simple
and Efficient Operation and Affordability.
Each unit comes built to operate for long
periods of time in a harsh Industrial/Marine
Environment with very little maintenance,
attention or trouble. This unit can be provided
to match any electrical power needs. Normally
provided standard with a 3 phase power requirement. |

BORS
Marine/Industrial High Flow Oil Water Separator This
new option can save a tremendous amount
of money on a separator in the situation
when large amounts of water need to be processed
that are mostly clean, but must be monitored
and processed if oil content is above the
limit. As an example 400 gpm can be processed
from a pond or tank and monitored continuously.
The separator is bypassed until it is needed
and then processes the oily water at 45
gpm when needed. |

Series "T" Industrial Oil Water Separator with Oil Content Monitor (TPH) These
series "T" model separator systems
include oil in water (TPH) monitoring and
Recycle Systems that test the discharge
water and assure compliance with the discharge
limit. Any water not meeting the limit is
recycled. (example photo - BORS-25-T) |

Series "S" Industrial Oil Water Separator without Oil Content Monitor For
all kinds of industrial applications these
series "S" model separator systems
are built to be for totally automatic operation.
No consumables or maintenance. Just set
them and forget them. (example photo - BORS-5-S) |

TPH
Models - The standard and
Economy BORS oil/water separation systems
do not include a TPH monitor. On models
with monitors, the TPH (Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbon) monitor is used to check the
oil content of the discharge water. These
monitors are sometimes referred to as oil
content monitors or oil in water monitors.
If the oil content is not within the established
parameters then the system will recycle
the water back to the source for reprocessing.
This assures that no water is discharged
that does not meet the requirement. This
monitor is required to obtain USCG and ABS
certification. Three different TPH Monitor
options are available providing USCG/ABS
certification and/or hazardous area classification.
Two different certifications are available.
The first was required on ships prior to
2005 and monitors the free oil in the water
only. This certification falls under a regulation
known as MEPC 60(33). New installations
on ships in 2005 and beyond are required
to have MEPC 107(49) certification. To obtain
this certification the TPH (Oil in Water)
monitor is a completely different unit that
now checks not only free oil in the water,
but also a special emulsion known as fluid
"C". Systems that comply with
this regulation remove the emulsified oil
as well as the free oil. In order to remove
Fluid C to 15 ppm a separate oleophilic
filter is required. BORS systems are available
that meet all of these certifications. The
third monitor option comes into play when
the separator is installed in a Class I
Division II or Class I Division I hazardous
area. In these cases the entire electrical
system must be encased to prevent potential
explosions. In this case a different, TPH
monitor option is used. The BORS unit can
be configured to meet these requirements
as well. |
