BioClear / High Rate Multi-Media Tertiary Filters

Ecologix High-Rate, Multi-Media Tertiary Filters separate the BioClear packaged sewage treatment plant from the rest. This technology is superior to any tertiary filter on the market. The Mult-Media Tertiary Filter will elimate organic and inorganic solids down to 5 microns or less. Through the use of mutiple layers of specially selected media, "progressive filtration" is achieved.

Ecologix High-Rate Mult-Media Tertiary Filters
Ecologix high rate automatic backwashing Multi-Media Tertiary Filters are designed for enhanced capability water filtration. These pressurized automatic backwashing filters will remove organic and/or inorganic suspended solids down to 10 microns in size and larger and will entrap greater amounts of suspended solids contaminants than sand media filters. Through the use of automatically controlled backwashing, the filter will operate "on-line" for extended periods of time prior to the short backwashing cycle. Automatic filter operation is monitored on both elapsed time as well as pressure differential. The extraordinary pressure that these tertiary vessels offer aid in forcing solids, organics and any substance to filter out better than any other media filter on the market. Four specially blended layers of media include a base of crushed rock for support, two layers of specially sized crushed garnet and anthracite filter the treated water down to a constant 5 mg/L of Total Suspended Solids. This combination has been specifically designed and proven to obtain the best results in conventional wastewater filtration.

tertiary filters
The Ecologix Multi-Media Tertiary Filters utilize a vertical side shell depth of 60" with layered graded beds of filtration media. Through the use of our multiple layers of specially sized filter media, "progressive filtration" is achieved through the media layers. The first layer of filter media entraps and holds about 70% of the suspended solids, allowing smaller particles to be removed in subsequent media layers. With the use of the finely crushed garnet the filter media excites Brownian movement, Van der Waal settling and electrostatic gravitational forces on fugitive dirt particles. This accounts for the fact that 45 micron interstitial void space (between stacked media grains) will capture micronic particulate down to 10 microns and smaller.

Our Multi-Media Tertiary Filters are ideally suited for use where stringent water quality standards are required or where higher levels of suspended solids are present. These applications can include re-use applications, water pre-treatment applications for reverse osmosis and de-ionization systems or in this case a specially designed tertiary filter for our BioClear package sewage treatment plants. Our Multi-Media Filters are also widely used as primary filters for removal of suspended solids in incoming plant water or in waste water cleanup applications.
